ThinkInvisible accelerates in Estonia with GameFounders

Budapest based ThinkInvisible was invited to GameFounders, a three-month accelerator program specifically designed for mobile game developers. The team is focused on creating a solution using a unique graphical puzzle to help people expand their vocabulary.

A group of young Hungarian entrepreneurs were offered the chance to prove themselves in the Estonian based GameFounders accelerator. The team of four will travel to Estonia to develop their idea based on a unique graphical puzzle. During the past two decades over 3 billion US Dollars were invested in more than 400 Hungarian enterprises. In his May 2006 essay titled “How to Be Silicon Valley,” Paul Graham – founder of YCombinator – discusses what it would take to reproduce Silicon Valley elsewhere. While the essay may be a little outdated, it is still relevant today.

I was immediately sucked into the essay after reading one of the opening paragraphs where Paul Graham gives a shout out to my home town – Buffalo, New York. He writes, “If you could get the right ten thousand people to move from Silicon Valley to Buffalo, Buffalo would become Silicon Valley.” As a proud former-Buffalonian I laughed-out-loud after reading this but couldn’t deny the accuracy of the statement. Startup Sauna is looking for entrepreneurs in Budapest

On October 1 for the first time ever Startup Sauna is organizing a Warmup event in Budapest to find the best startups and invite them to participate in the 6 week long program in Helsinki starting at the end of October.

Partnering with InVendor, Startup Sauna will meet the most promising startups from Hungary. The Budapest Warmup event consists of presentation in the morning where each team will present in front of the jury. In the afternoon, teams will have private feedback sessions with the coaches. We’re excited to be launching this website covering internet and technology startups from Hungary in English. We’re a group of entrepreneurs and journalists, and we’ll be writing about startups, innovation, business, and networking in Hungary.

As in every country nowdays, also here in Hungary everybody is talking about startups. They are talking about international startups - in Hungarian. They are talking about local startups - in Hungarian. They are also talking about the successes of Hungarian startups - again in Hungarian. But it seems that no one is talking about the Hungarian startups in English. We felt that there was information gap.
