On Tuesday, June 18, the first Pioneers Unplugged was hosted in Budapest. It inspired and educated more than 100 people from the local startup community such as entrepreneurs, investors, managers, programmers, students and people from the press. While Pioneers Festival is a conference to show off everything in tech, the Pioneers Unplugged offshoot of the brand is quite the opposite. It is a much more low key, personal experience with a perfect environment to meet and network with their peers. So, what did you miss?
The fist speaker, after Zsombor Imre from InVendor opened the event was Peter Arvai, the founder and CEO of Prezi. He showed through the example of his company how a startup can create 140 jobs in just a few years and how it can serve more than 24 million customers worldwide.
Dr. Bertalan Mesko from Webicina, the internationally recognized social media professional was the next guest to speak. He talked about his vision on how the medical education and communication between doctors and patients will be revolutionized with the web, especially with social media. His experience shows that socail media can be used even in healthcare.
One of the newest innovative products, Leopoly from Leonar3Do was introduced next to the audience. Leopoly is a unique 3D „plasticine” application which allows people to create 3D models online that can be 3D printed later. After the presentation during the participants had the chance to try out this amazing product.
Pioneers Unplugged is being rolled out as a bi-monthly event series all over Europe. The next ones will happen in Copenhagen, Zurich and Sofia. The goal of Pioneers Unplugged is to bring together people who are interested in entrepreneurship and innovative future technologies, and become the regular meeting point of this community. From now on every second month there is the possibility to join the event in Budapest. The next one will be organized in September after the innovators come back from holidays.
