Chris Heuer: What 20+ Years of Startup Failures Teach Us About What's Next

Budapest, Hungary

Chris Heuer is a Serial Entrepreneur both riding and driving digital disruption as an Internet visionary for over 22 years beginning with his first startup, a local content network, in 1994. He is widely regarded as a futurist often ahead of his time... and too often failing in pursuit of world-changing technological advancements. In this "improvisational" session exclusively for Mosaik, Chris will share his insights from failing and succeeding both outside of and inside of Silicon Valley along with his advice on finding success in the next wave of technology-driven societal transformation.

While the world is going crazy around us, he remains optimistic about our collective future and our ability to solve the world's most difficult challenges by coming together. He believes more organizations are finally evolving into "Enlightened Enterprises" in what he calls the "Adaptive Economy". His central thesis of his upcoming book is that success in this modern era requires "Ecosystem Thinking" - a holistic approach to combining design, system, agile and platform thinking along with radical customer centricity. This is further amplified with a mindset oriented towards co-creating shared value by aligning our shared values.

Regarded by many as a marketing savant, he considers himself more of a market builder and product imagineer. The proverbial man of many hats, Chris does literally everything, except coding (but he is learning how to do that now). His most recent software startups saw him formally taking on the role of CTO to manage production releases as well as the traditional business side. A glimpse of the breadth and depth of his experience and talents can be seen on his Linkedin Profile (http://linkedin.com/in/chrisheuer).

As the global founder and chairman of Social Media Club, he advanced media literacy and the ethical use of social media for market engagement, reaching 350 cities around the globe. While at Deloitte Consulting, serving as a Social Business leader, he more deeply explored engagement strategies and lead several digital transformation projects, including the global rollout of Yammer at Deloitte to 180,000 employees. At the United States Mint, Chris lead the federal government to $1.6MM(USD) in online sales as the Chief of eBusiness and launched the first opt-in email marketing campaign for the federal government. He is also a teacher, a mentor, a startup advisor, a media maven and a humanist.

Come prepared with your toughest questions and challenges as he will be available throughout the night to provide answers and develop creative solutions to help you succeed.
