CEED Tech, a consortium of Central and Eastern European technology accelerators announced that it had secured €5 Million in grants from the European Commission. The first round of application is open until December 15, with a second call following in 2015.
CEED Tech is a consortium of established software accelerators, specializing in mentorship and investment in high potential, scalable businesses led by proficient founders, helping them to launch fast, and gain further investment. Its members are Startup Yard in Prague, Digital Factory in Budapest, The Spot in Bratislava, Startup Wise Guys in Tallinn, and Open Coffee Club in Vilnius. Wayra, the startup accelerator by a Telefónica has just opened its Global Call for startups. Wayra CEE, the academy in Prague focused on Central and East Europe has space for up to 10 digital startups from the region. Application deadline is February 23.

Berlin-based venture capital firm Earlybird announced a their new Digital East Fund, dedicated to early stage investments in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey. The $130m fund will enable about twenty seed and series A level investments in the region.
Over the past years Earlybird has emerged as one of the leading venture capital firms fuelling the growth of the Berlin startup ecosystem.
