Kitchen Budapest - founded in 2007 - is a place where ideas come alive. It offers two potential ways to start out your idea. In the Talent Program young talents can bring their imagination and ideas to a phase of a proof of concept or prototype, while the Startup Program helps teams to develop businesses of the future.
The Talent Program starting February in 2014, was created for idea-development including an intensive half-year teamwork for young talents from different fields with the interest of product and service design. Their goal is to turn ideas of products or services with potential into real businesses. Kitchen Budapest provides the knowhow, the professional network and the funding of the projects.
During the six month period of the Talent Program gives the chance for five teams to advance their skills and to create a proof-of-concept version of a product or service. The competition has milestones to achieve like weekly reports and monthly presentations. Participants must reside in Budapest during the program. At the end of the sixth month, Kitchen Budapest selects the best redy-to-develop idea. The winning team "Kitchen Budapest Talent of 2014" will be announced.
For the duration of the programme, a monthly stipendium of about 270 Euros, as well as project financing for prototype development will be provided. The top projects will receive further funding by Kitchen Budapest throught its Startup Program or through their network of financial partners.
For the application you need to fill an online form with 300 words about the concept of the design product or service, 500 words about the schedule including briefly summary of work process, 100 words about the vision of the product in the future, and team members profile. Selection will be based on aspects, such as the concept and vision, product design, innovatione, feasibility, and team members.
So, apply now for the Talent Program if you are under 25, speak Hungarian and/or English, and have a team with 3-5 members. The application deadline is January 19, 2014. The applicants will be informed about the decision by January 26, and the work will start on February 3, 2014.
