Smartmobil 2013 brings top accelerators and investors to Budapest

On April 4, 2013, the largest conference on mobile trends and technologies, Smartmobil will provide the opportunity for innovative companies looking for early-stage financing to showcase themselves in front of Europe’s top investors and business accelerators.

The largest annual conference on mobile trends and technologies in Hungary, Smartmobil will be organised for the fourth time. Since its start in 2009, it has grown to be the leading platform of exchange of professional insights. Organisers have set the bar even higher this year, by aiming to organise the first startup challenge focusing on mobile technologies in the CEE region, where the most promising projects from neighbouring countries will have the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of Europe’s best known investors and business accelerators. Organisers hope, that with the event will help Hungary integrate into the internationally growing tech scene.

“Our aim this year is to help Budapest establish a place for itself internationally in the mobile technology scene and to increase the flow of startup capital. That is why we have a track focusing on investments, and that is why representatives from leading accelerators and venture capital firms, such as Startup Sauna, HackFwd, Credo Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfond, Almaz Capital, and Balderton Capital will be present at the conference. We hope that local companies will be able to make the best of this opportunity, and that it will help to advance the development of the mobile industry in Hungary” - said Matyas Dobo, organiser of the Smartmobil conference.

In addition to startups, almost all fields of the industry will be covered. Those interested in the current trends shaping mobile technologies can attend a variety of presentations and workshops by top international speakers, including Damien Perillat, regional leader of PayPal, Sabine Storm, internationally recognised expert on user experience (UX) from UsTwo, or Heiko Brehens, founder of Beamapp.

During the previous years, several technology innovations stemming from Hungary have been able to capture foreign markets and succeed internationally. Everyone has something to learn from the experiences of these successful entrepreneurs, so this year the organisers are bringing together the founders of Ustream, Prezi, LogMeIn, and iGo - the four most successful Hungarian tech companies - for an interesting panel discussion on the topic.
