Seedcamp is arriving to Budapest in October

The leading European startup accelerator, Seedcamp, will be holding its first ever Seedcamp startup event in Budapest, taking place in the 4th week of October.

While Seedcamp has been present in Central and Eastern Europe in Ljubljana, Zagreb and Prag, this is the first time it will hold an event in the capital of Hungary – in partnership with the European Entrepreneurship Foundation. This will be Seedcamp's first trip to Budapest and they are looking for innovative internet tech, software, media, and mobile focused businesses, great teams with awesome founders, and slick products that add real value.

Why Budapest?

"With a strong technical element in most successful local companies, ranging from web analytics to navigation, we could not miss holding an day-long adventure in Hungary’s capital. One of the hottest entrepreneurial cities in Central and Eastern Europe, Budapest is a great location to attract founders from all over the region and beyond. After our first Hungarian team, Antavo, joined us after Seedcamp Tel Aviv, we were impressed by their hunger for success paired with technical prowess. Antavo, and other successful Hungarian startups like Prezi have shown – there’s something we were so far missing out on." – explains Seedcamp in their press release.

Funding by Seedcamp

Seedcamp will choose 20 startups that apply to appear in front of an expert audience of startup mentors and try win the heart’s of Seedcamp investors. The winners of the event will receive €50,000 investment for 8-10% equity and will be one of the first official companies to enter the Seedcamp class of 2013. Other notable startups that have joined Seedcamp from the region include Vox.io and Zemanta, as well as UberVU and GIS Cloud.

As always, Seedcamp have invited awesome European internet technology mentors, who will be mentoring the 20 participating startups, giving them feedback to improve their chances of success, and networking like crazy.

Startups that wish to participate, expand their network and get some seed funding can apply through the official Seedcamp landing page until September 16th - if you’re a startup in Central and Eastern Europe and want some “smart money”, you should definitely apply.
